Holiday InnHoliday Inn was released in 1942 and starred Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby. It was a black and white musical that showed off their talents perfectly.

They play rival song and dance men who both compete with each other for the affections of their performing partner, played by Virginia Dale. Fred Astaire eventually wins her affections and this forces Crosby to move to Connecticut. When he gets there he decides to create a new resort that puts on shows during the holidays. Funny Face – Paramount Centennial Collection – 1957

Funny FaceFunny Face was released in 1957 and has Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn as the leading characters. It is a very entertaining and classic musical that was directed by Stanley Donen. Many people believe it to be one of Fred Astaire’s best movies in the latter stages of his acting career.

The movie begins in New York at a major fashion magazines offices called “Quality”. The president of the magazine, played by Kay Thompson, is desperately searching for new ways to promote her magazine. She has a sudden inspiration that everything should be pink and comes up with the aptly named slogan “Think Pink”. Continue Reading
