North by NorthwestThis special 50th Anniversary Edition of North by Northwest is an essential DVD to add to any movie fans collection. It stars Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, James Mason, Jessie Royce Landis and Leo G. Carroll. It was of course directed by Alfred Hitchcock and is widely thought of as being one of his best movies.

The movie was made shortly after Vertigo, which was by all accounts not one of Hitchcock’s best movies and just before Psycho was released. It is a romantic comedy that has Cary Grant playing one of his most memorable roles. He plays an advertising executive who is wrongly mistaken as being an under cover spy. When he realises people are following him, he thinks they are trying to kill him and flees to board a train. On the train he meets Eva Marie Saint and they share in one the longest on screen kisses of all time. Continue Reading
