The TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Best Picture Winners is a fantastic collection of four of the greatest movies ever made. They are Casablanca, Gigi, An American in Paris and Mrs. Miniver and all of them won the Best Picture award. This is a 2 disc, doubled sided DVD collection which gives higher picture quality and sound than the originals.

The movies themselves are real classics from the 1940’s and 1950’s. The first one is Casablanca which many people consider to be the best movie ever made. It stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman and is based just before World War II. The next movie is Mrs. Miniver and is also based during the war. It stars Greer Garson who won an Oscar playing a woman on the British homefront.

The next two movies are both musicals. Gigi was filmed in 1958 and stars Leslie Caron and Maurice Chevalier. Lastly is An American in Paris which was released in 1951 and stars Gene Kelly and Oscar Levant. This was the inspiration for the next musical to follow Singin In The Rain. Gigi and An American in Paris are acclaimed musicals and thoroughly enjoyable. Gene Kelly has some fantastic dancing scenes which are now legendary.
